The Price of Knowing

BEHIND THE WORDS

About the song

Humans can now witness practically every catastrophe on Earth in real time. The song asks whether the mind was ever designed to emotionally process an entire planet's suffering every morning-and whether protecting your attention sometimes allows you to care more, not less.

Its place on the album

After the confrontation comes exhaustion. The song shifts the focus from what people argue about to what constant exposure does to them, preparing the quieter question at the album’s centre.
