BEHIND THE WORDS
White Noise examines a repeating cycle of partying, possessions and financial stress. Cars, alcohol, watches and chains become a loop, while the lyric asks whether reckless living and expensive accessories amount to an original identity.
Its repeated chorus turns the volume down on the flex and looks at the cost underneath it. The satire points towards consumer habits and copy-and-paste storytelling, with room for a punchline.
"White Boy Wasted"?
Yeah.
Burnouts, Bacardi, weed, watches, women- Same ingredients again.
Turn the volume down for a second.
All I hear is White Noise.
Bruck-down Lexus doing burnouts, reckless Dirty cash for a bust-down necklace Late nights grinding just to buy more flex So the whole life plan is accessories? Excellent
Full tint 'cause the feds can't see me Smoke loud, "mind right like Jeezy" North Face hood, Grey Goose, get faded Fourteen bars just to say you're intoxicated
"Can't dance 'cause a man's Caucasian" That's the punch? Congratulations Called the whole tune White Boy Wasted Then explained the title like an application
Bernie Mac when you step in the room? Why? 'Cause you've got a drink and perfume? Pimp walk, Goose, zoot, girl on tap That's not Bernie Mac - that's a Friday night recap
White Noise - turn it down, what's left? Smoke, rims, chains and financial stress Bank that bread just to hang it on your neck Then work all night just to pay for the flex
White Noise - same loop, new phrase Get drunk, get high, buy wheels, get paid You made reckless living sound copy-and-paste I came sober-minded just to clean up the waste
Rolling Stone, then "Paint It Black" Okay, two Stones references back-to-back Red whip changed 'cause the bacon's behind you? Police saw the colour and said, "That'll disguise you"
Back shots when the drinks come round Shubz gets loud till the venue shuts down Every verse ends with "party all night" You've got six personalities - they all drink alike
Captain on deck, feeling wavy "Ahoy there matey" - piracy lately? Watch on wrist, chain on neck, rims on whip Same inventory from every other script
You work hard just to pay for this shit? Finally, something believable slipped 'Cause every tune's Rolex, Cuban and chrome Man's working overtime for things he already owns
Vacay, Day-Date, payday, Pelé Four-word chain and you called that wordplay "Time on my hands" with a watch - understood That joke's been alive since sundials stood
Brazil, football, kick back, Pelé Passport punchline, package holiday Spend time in the field, now you're "balling" You saw one sports word and brought football in
"I need dough, man, I make that bread" Run that bag till you break both legs Dough, bread, food - same metaphor fed Whole bakery opened and the punchline's dead
Cuban necklace, VV diamonds Watch face shining, coupe all blinding If every success needs jewellery beside it Maybe you don't own the wealth - maybe wealth defines it
White Noise - turn it down, what's left? Smoke, rims, chains and financial stress Bank that bread just to hang it on your neck Then work all night just to pay for the flex
White Noise - same loop, new phrase Get drunk, get high, buy wheels, get paid You made reckless living sound copy-and-paste I came sober-minded just to clean up the waste
"All gas, no brakes" - then "been working" Pound sterling, wick burning, bankroll twerking Serve on the strip till the curtains close Another money metaphor wearing different clothes
Hotbox the car when you're parking up Fresh trim, Bacardi poured in the cup Funny how every time the writing gets stuck Someone sparks something or fills something up
Your chorus tells the whole career: Drive too fast, get drunk, buy gear Hide from police, smoke when stressed Then chase more money to purchase the rest
That's not chaos, it's direct-debit living Earn it, burn it, repeat the mission Bust-down watch as the final ambition? You turned consumer debt into a religion
See, reckless ain't depth just 'cause it sounds wild And expensive ain't interesting every time You can chrome every panel, diamond every dial Still can't accessorise an original style
Take away Lexus - what do you say? Take away Goose - how do you celebrate? Take away Cuban links and the Day-Date face Does the personality disappear with the chain?
'Cause I've heard this before: The cars, the smoke The rims, the girls The watches, the coke The paper, the bread The "feds" and the road-
Different song title Same episode
You call getting smashed "living better than most" I'd rather remember the night than brag about the toast No cup in my hand and my head stays poised I don't need to get wasted to make some noise
That's the difference-
You brought White Boy Wasted.
I filtered out the bullshit and heard
White Noise.
